Rhinophyma is a chronically progressive disease that results in a variably enlarged and bumpy nose that is disfiguring. In the early stages, the nose may seem subtly swollen. As the disease progresses, the nose develops a lumpiness that is sometimes spongy and oily because the sebaceous glands are becoming enlarged. Treatment of this condition is tailored to the individual and often involves a combination of laser and electrosurgical treatments that results in a dramatic improvement all performed with local anesthesia to ensure the most comfortable experience.
