When JUVÉDERM® ULTRA PLUS XC is injected into areas where collagen and elastin production have diminished, the gel provides immediate volume. Are there risks?
Though uncommon, less common, there is a chance of minor bruising associated with any injectable. To lessen your chances of bruising, we recommend discontinuing the use of products like Aspirin, Blood-Thinners, Fish-Oils, Alcohol, Aleve, and any aspirin-based products like Alka Seltzer for 2 weeks prior to your procedure. We do not treat patients who are pregnant or nursing.

What to Expect
During Treatment
After cleansing the treatment area(s), we will apply a topical anesthetic and allow it to take effect over the next 20-30 minutes. The topical anesthetic will then be removed, and we will use a surgical antiseptic to cleanse the skin.
Next, Dr. Erickson will administer your injections via cannula or using fine gauge needles, depending on which method is best for achieving your aesthetic goals. The enhanced formula of JUVÉDERM® ULTRA PLUS XC contains a local anesthetic to further minimize discomfort during the injection process.
After Treatment
There is no downtime or recovery time after JUVÉDERM® ULTRA PLUS XC. Patients can resume daily activities immediately, with a few recommended exceptions for a day or two to help avoid swelling as much as possible.
Improvements are is usually instantly noticeable right away. JUVÉDERM® XC and JUVÉDERM® ULTRA PLUS XC results can last six to nine months, with some patients reporting even longer-lasting improvements.
