It’s a burning question that many who are considering the Coolsculpting procedure have: “Does Coolsculpting work?” Also known as cryo- lipolysis, Coolsculpting is a non-surgical procedure that freezes fat cells. The surrounding tissue stays healthy, and the fat cells (now damaged from being frozen during the procedure) slowly die off, leaving your body newly-contoured.

But does it really work?

“Of course it works,” says Dr. Quenby Erickson, board-certified dermatologist. “You can spend hours in the gym and lose weight, only to see those stubborn trouble areas stick around.”

Recalling her own personal experience with Coolsculpting, Dr Erickson noted that no matter how big or small she had gotten in the past, her inner thighs still always rubbed together. “That is, until Coolsculpting,” she says, smiling. “Now I feel better in my clothes, in dresses, shorts, even while I’m working out.”

So, what if you have multiple pesky pockets of fat? Where do you start?
“It’s that one trouble area; no matter how hard you work, that’s always a disappointment… That’s often the first area you’d treat with coolsculpting.”

Why?
“Because it really makes you realize the difference. You see the changes,” says Dr. Erickson. “Our patients love it. I think it really makes them feel good. I think for many people, it makes them feel better in (and out!) of their clothes.”

…And really, who wouldn’t want that?
