Like JUVÉDERM® XC, JUVÉDERM® ULTRA PLUS XC is a nonsurgical, physician-administered treatment for nasolabial folds and other facial wrinkles. It also adds volume and diminishes the appearance of wrinkles and nasolabial folds instantly, like JUVÉDERM® XC.
The difference is that JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus XC is a a more robust formulation for volumizing and correcting deeper folds and facial wrinkles. This allows Dr. Erickson to tailor treatment to meet your unique needs.
Who is it good for?
The more robust JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus XC is typically chosen by Dr. Erickson to smooth out moderate to severe wrinkles and folds around the nose and mouth, like parentheses. This is especially helpful for those who need more correction for these areas.
What should I expect?
Once you have discussed your needs with Dr. Erickson, your treatment can take place in less than fifteen minutes. Improvement is usually instantly noticeable, though you may have some minor swelling from the procedure. JUVÉDERM® XC, and JUVÉDERM® ULTRA PLUS XC results can last up to a year, and sometimes longer.
Are there risks?
Though less common, there is a chance of minor bruising associated with any injectable. To lessen your chances of bruising, we recommend discontinuing use of products like Aspirin, Blood-Thinners, Fish-Oils, Alcohol, Aleve, and any aspirin-based products like Alka Seltzer for 2 weeks prior to your procedure.
