When you squint or frown, the muscles between your brows contract, causing the skin to furrow and fold. These lines that occur due to facial mimics are referred to as dynamic lines. Over time, as your skin ages and loses some of its elasticity, these repeated contractions can cause persistent frown lines.
The active ingredient in Dysport® is used in facial aesthetic treatment to treat dynamic lines like glabellar frown lines. (the lines between the eyebrows). It acts on nerve endings in muscles to prevent muscle fibers from contracting. By reducing these contractions, Dysport® can temporarily reduce the frown lines on your forehead between your eyes.
Who is it good for?
People who want to soften the look of fine lines and wrinkles, most commonly in the upper half of the face. Dysport® is also great for those who want an improvement in the look of their skin, but are not yet ready for (or do not wish to have) a surgical cosmetic procedure. Dysport® is often used in conjunction with other techniques like laser resurfacing, medical-grade facials, or dermal fillers to complement and enhance those results.
What should I expect?
Though less common, there is a chance of minor bruising associated with any injectable. To lessen your chances of bruising, we recommend discontinuing use of Aspirin, Blood-Thinners, Fish-Oils, Alcohol, Aleve, and any aspirin-based products like Alka Seltzer for 2 weeks prior to your procedure.
