What Is the Lumenis M22?
The M22 is a modular, multi-application platform that can be used to treat a variety of skin conditions. Because this device has intense pulsed light (IPL) and laser resurfacing capabilities, it can accomplish remarkable improvements in both skin tone and texture:
- IPL – IPL treatments with the M22 can target vascular lesions, hyperpigmentation, sun damage, and more by delivering pulses of specific wavelengths of light.
- Laser resurfacing – The M22 features the ResurFX fractional laser for non-ablative skin resurfacing. ResurFX can provide skin firming and tightening by stimulating increased collagen production.
Am I a Good Candidate for M22?

What to Expect
During Treatment
M22 procedures usually take 30-45 minutes, though the total treatment time depends on the size of the treatment area. To begin, a topical anesthetic will be applied.
Dr. Erickson will tailor the device’s settings for your unique skincare needs and select the appropriate handpiece attachment. She will then pass the device over the targeted skin, delivering carefully calibrated light energy.
After Treatment
After your M22 treatment is complete, you can return back to your normal daily activities. Some degree of swelling or redness can occur following an M22 session. These symptoms usually subside within 24-72 hours.
Improvements in skin texture and tone may be visible after just one session. However, three to five M22 sessions are typically recommended to achieve optimal collagen regeneration and the most dramatic results.
