What Is ClearSilk?
ClearSilk is a non-ablative laser treatment that is gentle on the skin, yet can effectively revitalize a dull, damaged complexion. This cosmetic device employs a concentrated beam of light energy (laser) to heat underlying dermal tissue without harming the outer layer of skin. The controlled thermal damage caused by the laser kickstarts repair processes, including the production of collagen, so patients can achieve more vibrant and healthier-looking skin.
Am I a Good Candidate for ClearSilk?
Ideal candidates for ClearSilk can be men or women who have a variety of skin concerns, such as wrinkles, fine lines, rosacea, uneven skin tone, and/or skin texture irregularities. ClearSilk is “pigment-friendly,” which means it is safe for all skin tones, including tanned skin; however, to ensure that ClearSilk is right for you, Dr. Erickson will need to physically examine your skin and review your medical history.
How Much Will My ClearSilk Treatment Cost?
Since each patient’s ClearSilk treatment is customized to his or her needs, the price of this laser procedure varies. The number of treatment sessions, number of treatment sites, and the size of the targeted area(s) will affect the overall cost.
What to Expect
During Treatment
ClearSilk laser treatments are quick and convenient, taking around 30 minutes per session. Many patients even opt to schedule their ClearSilk appointments over their lunch hour. Procedures involving larger treatment areas may require up to an hour.
There’s no need for any anesthetic as the procedure is not considered painful. However, you will need to wear the provided safety glasses to protect your eyes from the laser beam. During the procedure, you will simply relax while Dr. Erickson passes the handpiece over the treatment area as it emits laser energy to be absorbed by the skin.
After Treatment
After the procedure, you can return to your normal activities immediately. There’s no downtime associated with this non-ablative laser treatment. It’s important to note that you should avoid excess heat, massage, and direct sunlight at the treatment sites for at least 24 hours post-treatment. Some patients may experience mild redness or a sensation of warmth at the treatment site(s) for a short period of time after a ClearSilk session. While visible improvements are possible with a single treatment session, optimal results typically require a series of treatment sessions. Most patients can achieve their desired outcome after four to six ClearSilk sessions.
