What to Expect
During Treatment
This treatment will typically take between 30 and 60 minutes to complete and is administered by Dr. Quenby Erickson, a renowned board-certified dermatologist. A topical anesthetic will be applied beforehand to minimize discomfort during the procedure.
After the topical anesthetic has taken effect, the handheld laser device will be guided across the treatment area. Laser energy will be emitted into the skin tissues, which will cause a warm sensation. Once the laser resurfacing is complete, a special serum will be applied to moisturize the skin.
After Treatment
Most patients can expect to be fully healed within a week of a Sciton ProFractional treatment. The skin beneath the surface will continue to improve for several months. During the initial days of the healing process, areas of skin treated with Sciton ProFractional are typically bloody and may ooze. These symptoms usually subside within a few days. There may be a grid-like pattern on the skin post-treatment. This effect is temporary and may take a month or more to completely resolve.
